An improved design to unleash a barefoot feel with greater power behind it, there’s a bold statement to Puma’s evoPOWER 1.3 Mixed Sole SG Rugby Boots. Powerful Touch Continuing where its predecessor left off, the evoPOWER 1.3 applies power generated through a barefoot-like kick. The key to this sits in the material as Japanese AdapLite allows the foot to bend naturally so you can get all your power behind any contact as you make that sweet connection. There’s even a subtle Grip Tex print over the upper to enhance ball control and touch, proving there’s more to the boot than just power. Protective Touch Where you have power then you also need protection, which is where AccuFoam comes into play. Positioned across the kicking area of the foot, this allows for more power and accuracy when striking the ball but also helps cushion the impact. A greater surface area for striking the ball is also created by the off-centre lacing design. Soft Ground Making the transfer from previous evoPOWER models is the visable Gradual Stability Frame (GSF) through the sole. Working as a spine for a stable feel from heel to forefoot, this is joined by a mix of metal (removable) and moulded studs to help generate plenty of power and grip over soft, natural pitches. This boot weighs 296g (UK 9). Make sure you kit yourself out with a spare set of studs.
